Lacrosse Stats Explained

Goals (G)

Balls scored. The primary offensive stat. Track scoring consistency across the season.

Assists (A)

Passes directly leading to goals. Shows ball movement and team play—coaches love unselfish players.

Ground Balls (GB)

Loose balls won. The work stat. High GB count shows hustle, effort, and winning possession battles.

Shots (S)

Attempts on goal. Shows offensive aggression. More shots generally = more scoring opportunities.

Caused Turnovers (CT)

Forced ball handling mistakes. A defensive stat showing pressure and game awareness.

Saves (SV) — Goalies

Shots stopped by the goalie. Raw work stat. High saves = good defense or a busy game.

Goals Against (GA) — Goalies

Goals allowed. Lower is better. Track save percentage to measure true performance.

Why Lacrosse Parents Track Stats

See Effort & Hustle

A kid with 5 ground balls showed up. A kid with 5 GB, 2 CA, and 1 A was everywhere—that's impact.

Track Role Evolution

Attack, midfield, defense, or goalie? Stats show how your kid is adapting and growing in their position.

Celebrate Two-Way Play

Lacrosse isn't just offense. A card showing 3 GB, 2 CA, and 1 goal proves your kid is a complete player.

Keep the Season Alive

Years later, a trading card from playoffs or a big tournament is a time machine back to this moment.
